Time and Patience Bring Success

On the riverbank, a sage had set up his humble hermitage. He would sit there every day, repeatedly shouting, You will get what you desire! Passersby often saw him and dismissed him as mad. Some laughed at him, while others mocked him for his words. One day, a young man walked down the same path. Unemployed and struggling, he heard the sage’s voice, You will get what you desire! Intrigued, the young man approached the sage and asked, Is it true that I can get whatever I wish for? Can you really help me?

The sage smiled and replied, Yes, but first, tell me what you truly desire. The young man eagerly said, I want to become a successful diamond merchant. Can you help me achieve this dream? The sage nodded and said, Of course, my son. I will give you two treasures: a diamond and a pearl. These two things will help you create as many diamonds and pearls as you wish.

Hearing this, the young man was thrilled and stretched out his hands. The sage placed his hand on the young man’s right palm and said, This is the most precious diamond. It is time. If you use it wisely, you can achieve anything. Hold onto it tightly and never let it slip away. Next, the sage placed a pearl in his left palm and said, This pearl is patience. Whenever things take longer than expected, hold on to this. With patience, you can overcome any challenge and accomplish your goals.

The young man thanked the sage for his valuable lessons and walked away with a new sense of purpose. Determined, he vowed never to waste time and to remain patient in all circumstances. Soon, he found a job with a successful diamond merchant and worked hard to learn everything about the trade. Over time, his dedication and patience paid off, and he became a renowned diamond merchant himself.

Moral:  To achieve any goal, you need two essential qualities: time and patience. Use your time wisely and remain patient in difficult times, and success will follow.
