Heartbreak in the Library: A Test of Strength

When my crush walked into the library with someone else, my resolve was tested. A story of heartbreak, recovery, and resilience in the face of temptation.

A Test of Strength

A Test of Strength

I know it sounds ridiculous,
but I can’t make you see the chase—
the breathless run in the dark,
the way a thought can pull you under.

Maybe Judas loved fiercely,
held tight, burned bright,
left you shaken, undone.

I’d welcome that kind of madness,
a rhythm wild enough to dance to.
In the end, don’t we all want the same thing?

A man once said Sylvia Plath was too much.
I see myself in her shadow.
If this isn’t about desire, then what is?

I’m afraid to name it, to touch it.
But you feel it too—
not why you chose him,
but why you stay.
